Meet the artist behind Rosehill Pottery.

Leah Rosehill

Hello! My name is Leah, Iā€™m a full time potter in the Comox Valley BC. I create functional pottery inspired by the whimsy of nature and my love of fungi. I work out of my lovely studio that is situated on a small hobby farm on the outskirts of Cumberland. Here I am surrounded by goats, ducks, cedar trees and all the inspiration an artist could ask for!

My love of mushrooms is deep rooted. During the pandemic I worked on a mushroom farm as well as several permaculture farms. These experiences have forever intwined the natural world into my pottery inspiration.

I believe in the power that functional pottery holds in our hearts and homes. Having art that you can interact with and touch each day creates a special bond between the user and the pot. Its a unique relationship that I have felt since a young age, and is what really drew me to this medium.

I studied ceramics at Kwantlen University and have taught a few workshops around Vancouver. I mostly sell my pots in local B.C. shopfronts, artisan markets, and on my online shop!

Here I am at a local market!

Catch me locally all over Vancouver Island! You can find my next market posted on my Instagram bio. @rosehillpottery
